This position is responsible for ensuring that the bakery runs effectively and efficiently through effective PM and maintenance/equipment overhauls. The position of Reliability Engineer is accountable for improved equipment performance & technical downtime reduction through proper PM and equipment maintenance. Leads efforts to ensure the Reliability and Maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety systems.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly/daily maintenance and operation meetings to review PM and daily/weekly equipment maintenance needs
- Continued improvement and execution of PM program across bakery based on ABC equipment risk assessment, complying with all weekly/monthly and annual FSQA and H&S required work
- Responsible for all annual overhauls including equipment assessment, spare part ordering, and contractor and/or vendor engagement, leading to overall equipment performance improvement
- Analyse daily reports through collected data history and apply to predictive maintenance through CMMS
- Ensure a seamless process between PM, spare part availability, ordering, and inventory
- Ensure the SAP PM system is fully functional, with accurate equipment I.D., tasks and frequency
- Ensure the PM team fully utilizes the SAP system to ensure data and history are tracked and utilized for future reference
- Assist with the training, coaching, and development of new maintenance employees, accelerating the learning and overall competency of the maintenance team
- Develops Engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect Plant operations.
- Oversee breakdown management system, including troubleshooting, reporting/analysis, and recurrence prevention.
- Establishing benchmark KPIs for PM completion, overhaul activities, and overall equipment performance, including PM auditing for completion and quality
- Coordinate vendor PM’s where necessary and perform random checks of vendor PMs to ensure reliability and quality of work
- Develop and coordinate plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery, or buildings.
- Establish strong relationships with all work groups and work with a collaborative style
- Led the team through the process of troubleshooting breakdowns, downtime reports, and Root Cause Fault Analyses
- Provide off-hour technical support to the maintenance team if required
- Report any concerns and/or problems to the supervisor through daily written and verbal reporting
- Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in the SOP manual
- Adhere to GMPs and Health and safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook
- Ensure GMPs and safe food handling practices are being followed
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid license or more than 10 years of experience in the trade is required
- Certificate of Qualifications, Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright
- Comfortable with Solid Works and Design Engineering
- Team builder who is self-managed and able to set priorities among conflicting priorities
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Excellent troubleshooting skills able to document findings and prepare Root Cause Analyses
